Highway Wilding recently commissioned me to create a number of short “webisodes” about their wolverine research here in the Canadian Rockies. Dr. Tony Clevenger and his team are assessing the effectiveness of animal overpasses and underpasses for wolverines (and other animals) needing to cross the four-lane Trans Canada Highway. They wanted the webisodes both as educational tools and to showcase their work to prospective funders.
2010-11 Results- “89% of the bait sites in the Naitonal Parks were visited. This short video is a summary of the results and is a compilation of some of the best images of wolverines and other wildlife captured during the research.
“Wolverines are a very difficult species to study…it’s really one of the least understood mammals in North America today.” Dr. Tony Clevenger
This short video describes highway mitigation in Banff National Park which includes highway overpasses and underpasses and fencing that are all designed to give wildlife safe passage across this major transportation corridor.
